We also need parents who are familiar with sound system to help for the stage set up, if you can, please let us know.
3) Safety: CLSC students, please pay attention around you when you play.
Our school has many students; the age range is from 3 to 18. Many young students could easily get injured by older students' careless act. This past Sunday, there were some big kids running around and playing Pad ball while many small children were surrounded. We sincerely hope every student in our school will care for younger children and respect others. We also need every parent help to monitor the safety issue. If you see any unsafe act in school by some student, please don't hesitate to correct him or her immediately and report the problem to school later. Together, we will make CLSC a safe and pleasant place for all.
4) Donation to CLSC:
We will thank the following families for their generous donation to CLSC in Fall 2007. They are Mr. Lin, Hsien-Ying (林顯穎) - $320 ; Ms. Ching-Chuan Yang(楊清筌) - $350; Mr. Teng H. Low (劉天富) - $200; Ms. Peina Shr Li (施貝娜) - $40; Mr. Vincent Ling (凌鎮邦)- $40.
5) HCC 2008 Spring ESL programs
Registration and course schedules. See CLSC website for details. There are classes free of charge, such as Community English classes; there are other advanced classes such as Intensive English classes, and Business English classes. Most classes will start during the week of January 28.
6) If you own a home in Maryland as a principal residence, this affects you.
This month you should receive your Maryland Property Tax Assessment notice in the mail. There is an application inside the assessment which you need to fill out in order to apply for the Homestead Property Tax Credit. This credit was automatically given to you in the past, if you were eligible, which most of us are. This year you must apply for it. The homestead credit limits the amount of assessment increase on which a homeowner will pay property taxes in that tax year on the one property actually used as the owner's principal residence. THIS YEAR IF YOU DO NOT FILL OUT THE APPLICATION YOU WILL NOT BE GRANTED THE HOMESTEAD TAX EXEMPTION AND YOUR TAX BILL WILL GO UP ACCORDINGLY. If you have further questions you can visit the Maryland Department of Assessments website at www.dat.state.md.us
7) Gifted and Talented Education Program to Hold Countywide Student Showcase
