1)  The Hua Sha Chinese dance proudly presents "Butterfly Lovers" Chinese Dance Concert.
It will be held 7:30 pm Sunday April 20th, 2008 at Jim Rouse Theater. Its address is 5460 Trumpeter Rd., Columbia, MD 21044. Tickets are $20 and $25.

2)  Hand in Hand Bilingual Tales will be held 4/24 @ 7:00 pm or 4/26 @ 11:00 am at Miller Branch. "REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED"
Registration begins on 4/17/08. Please call 410-313-1995 to register. Stories and activities are suitable for child 3-6 y/o. It is offered in both English and Chinese. There will be a special presentation by Penny Theater production of Lon Po Po: A Red-Riding Hood Story from China.

3)  CLSC Fund Raising Sale
Semi Annual Gift Card sale – Time is running out!!  The race is on till end of April. Your purchase will bring average of 5% profit to our CLSC students. The top 3 sale classes will have an ice cream party on 05/04.
Crispy cream donut and gift certificate sale - Fresh made glazed crispy cream donuts certificate $3.50 each will be on sale at CLSC this week.

4)  2008 DC Dragon boat race on May 17 & 18 at Thompson Boat Center, D.C.

5)  STARTALK program in Howard County
CLSC will be the main sponsor to run this program funded by Department of Defense. This program mainly focuses on middle school students will start on 6/30- 7/25. This program will take place at Burleigh Manor Middle School. Please contact the site manager Bianca Chang for more information at e-mail cchangb@gmail.com. 6)  Mr. Frank Miller, Executive Director of American Red Cross of Central Maryland Chapter will be our speaker on May 11, 2008 3pm to 3:30 pm.

7)  Howard County Schools art exhibits on display at Columbia Mall will end in 2 weeks.
Please find some marvelous art work done by our talented CLSC students- Madison Oehler and Jessica Liu.

8)  CR 34-2008 is the resolution which was read into the record on April 7 at the County Council's Legislative Session.
CR 34-2008 will create a youth task force. There will be a public hearing on Tuesday, April 22 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Banneker Room. Voicing your support would be wonderful. The Council will vote on this resolution on May 5. Many of you have expressed interest in the task force. Please make your interest known by sending an email to the Council members.
