4)  You must have heard that a major (7.9 scale) earthquake struck Sichuan Province in China. By the latest account, over 50,000 people are perished and tens and thousands more people are still buried under the rubbles. The devastation is immeasurable. As oversea Chinese, we must do our part to assist the victims.

The Tzu Chi Foundation (慈濟) already sent over 100 tons of supplies to the earthquake victims. Beginning May 17, Tzu Chi Foundation starts a donation drive all over the US. These two fliers, one in Chinese and one in English, contain information on how to make a donation through Tzu Chi Foundation. Because Tzu Chi Foundation is an IRS-registered 503(c)(3) tax exempt charity organization, your donation is fully tax deductible. Furthermore, your donation is used to help the victim without overhead charges. The overhead is being covered by a separate set of donations. Please visit http://www.us.tzuchi.org/usa/home.nsf/homeC/index for details and daily updates.
