1)  CLSC Activities this Sunday

2)  New CLSC School Directory I hope all CLSC families have reviewed and enjoyed the new 2008-2009 school directory brought home by your child the past Sunday. You can use the directory to know more of school teachers, classmates and parents. In the directory, there are ADs for some local business that has good reputation of service from CLSC families. If you use their services, please let them know, you are a CLSC family. Special thanks go to room parents of Bilingual-2, Binlingual-3, Spelling, G3, G4, G9 and G10 and parent Chi-Yi Wu for their help of distribution and delivery the directories.

4)  Free Yang-style TaiChi/Qi-gong classes for Columbia Association Package Plan Plus or Package Plan members. The classes are a wonderful and gentle mind & body workout.

5)  Science and technology summer intern for High school students

The Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP) offers select high school students a unique opportunity to explore and pursue careers in science and technology. SEAP students spend eight weeks each summer working full-time on unclassified tasks. Under the direction of NRL scientists and engineers, students actively engage in important research, planning sessions, special program seminars, and writing and presentation of a final research paper. They earn a stipend of $1,500.00 ($1,550 for returning students).

The program is administered by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE); NRL hosts students at the main site in Washington, D.C., at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, and at the Marine Meteorology Division in Monterey, California. 6 weeks Summer Language camp at Taiwan. For youth 14 -18 (07/07 -08/17) and young adult 18-24 ( 07/06 – 08/16). See attachments for details.
