1) The Principal’s word for the CLSC fall picnic
What a great success for our Fall picnic! Even the weather is perfect for picnic. Kids really enjoyed the games, parade, Yo-Yo, kites and running around. Adults were busy talking to friends old and new. Of course, the endless food just keeps coming. Everyone really enjoyed lots of food and fun. But the picnic ends with prizes drawing. There are many parents and students spent time talking to families and getting acquaintance with each other. among them, there were 10 lucky winners. Thank you for your participation!

2) CLSC Yo-Yo class starts this Sunday. We will offer 2 sessions of Yo-Yo class this fall.
Time is 3:50 – 4 :50 PM at the atrium area ( Tai-Chi class area)
Session 1 : for beginner / intermediate - 11/1, 11/8,11/15
Session 2: for intermediate/advanced - 12/06,12/13, 12/20
Fee : $10 per session ( 3 days of class) for CLSC language student, $20 per session (3 days of class) for non-CLSC student.
You have to bring your own Yo-Yo, or purchase one from school, the new, durable and easy for beginner’s Yo-Yo is $20 a set.

3) Dr. Chein-Chi Chang wants to share some highlights in Water Resources Element (WRE) issue with CLSC community. He will start at 1:45 pm to 2:15 pm this Sunday 11/01 at the cafeteria.Any comments are welcome.
In 2006, State of Maryland passed a legislation which requires local jurisdictions adopt Water Resources Element (WRE) as a amendment to their General Plan. The WRE must address adequate water resource capacity for future growth, including drinking water supply and providing adequate treatment of wastewater and stormwater. In this presentation, CLSC parent, 張建祺, Dr. Chein-Chi Chang, Howard County Environmental Advisory Board member will review key issues and recommend Policies and Actions to address WRE issues in Howard County.
4) Drawing contest
We will distribute prizes to all drawing contest participants in class this Sunday.
5) Topic:The Prevention and Diagnosis of Osteoporosis & Osteoarthritis

隨著老年人口的增加,骨質疏鬆症成為最常見的骨骼疾病。關節炎,也是另一個隨年齡增長和社會人口老化的重要話題。如何保護骨骼及關節以免病變、早期晚期病變的治療,都與維持骨骼和關節的健康有直接相關。
王國照教授曾任美國維吉尼亞大學醫學院骨科醫師及骨科教授兼主任,台灣高雄醫學大學校長,現任國立成功大學榮譽教授及維吉尼亞大學名譽教授。在維吉尼亞大學從事教學研究將近40年,透過嚴格的訓練,讓他成為維吉尼亞大學第一位外國醫學院畢業的華人外科住院醫師及主任。他致力於骨壞死、骨血流,以及生物力學上對脊椎的生理及力學的研究,並成為該大學數一數二的骨科專家。王教授曾發表多篇具突破開創性之學術論文,並多次受邀在國際骨科醫學會發表演講,亦曾先後獲得美國骨科醫學會頒發三項骨科醫學界最高榮譽的獎項,及特殊卓越貢獻者之最高學術獎項。
